What makes a project right for us.

We turn down more work than we accept. We are deliberate about the projects we take on because we ship under our own name, with our own reputation attached. Here is what we are looking for.

We are a good fit if…

You care about the user as much as the metric. Privacy is a hard requirement, not a marketing line. You want a long-term engineering partner, not a vendor. You respect craft and detail. Your product has a clear point of view. You have budget for at least a 2-week sprint.

We are probably not a fit if…

You need a 50-person offshore body shop. You want a clone of an existing app in 6 weeks. Privacy is something you would like to "have a story about." The budget for the engineering is smaller than the budget for the marketing launch. You are looking for a one-line-of-code SDK integration.

Industries we know deeply

Consumer subscription apps, fitness and wellness, productivity tools, finance and budgeting, creative tools, reading and writing, collecting and cataloguing, travel and outdoor. Less experience in: ad-tech arbitrage, social networking, marketplaces, gaming.

Geographic coverage

62% of our revenue is non-US. We work comfortably across North America, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, and Brazil. Native-level English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin.

// Common questions

Before you write to us.

It is a 30-minute video call with Elena, our founder. We will ask about the product, the team, the constraints, the timeline, and the budget. You will get an honest read on whether we are a fit, an outline of what we would do in the first 30 days, and a budget range. There is no follow-up sales sequence — if we are not the right shop, we will recommend three others.
For a Sprint engagement, we can typically start within 2 weeks of signing. For a Studio Retainer, our earliest availability is currently Q3 2026 — Q1 2027 for new retainer clients. Equity / royalty partnerships are reviewed quarterly by our partnership committee.
We are happy to sign a mutual NDA before the call, but in nine years we have never actually needed one for the first conversation. Most product context is not actually confidential — what matters is the team, the timeline, and the constraint. If you would still prefer an NDA, mention it in the form and we will send a mutual NDA template within 24 hours.
Yes. We work hybrid, with the team in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to visit, mention it in the form and we will arrange a half-day with the engineering leads. We can also meet you in San Francisco, New York, London, Berlin, or Singapore with two weeks' notice.
Rarely. We review equity / royalty partnerships once per quarter, and only for projects where we have high conviction — strong founder, clear market wedge, real privacy differentiation. We do not invest time in speculative pitches. If you would like to be considered, the form is the right starting point.
